CALGARY, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - In January of 2008, JuneWarren Publishing and
Nickle's Energy Group, Canada's two leading oil and gas publishers, merged
under Glacier Media Inc., a Vancouver-based multi-media company. The result is
a significantly expanded energy information business serving Canada's oil and
gas industry and beyond.
Both JuneWarren and Nickle's have published energy periodicals and
products for decades, and have therefore built up considerable loyalty and
brand equity in Canada's oil and gas sector. Looking to capitalize on this,
the new merged company will be known as the JuneWarren-Nickle's Energy Group.
As such, we are pleased to unveil our new corporate logo.
It was important that the new logo encapsulated the word that binds us
and charts our course for the future: energy. The symbol itself is derived
from the idea of "streams of energy," which when represented graphically, and
somewhat abstractly, via the three "energy bands," and intersected by a
diagonal stroke, forms a stylized upper case "E."
Over the next year, as we navigate through a branding transition, this
will become the sole recognizable corporate brand in all of our publications
and communications, appearing on websites, magazines, and signage. While
individual product brands will remain a key focus of our marketing
initiatives, JuneWarren-Nickle's Energy Group will become our overarching
corporate brand, as we shed the JuneWarren Publishing and Nickle's Energy
Group names and logos.
The coming together of these two companies is an exciting venture, and as
we determine best practices between the two, align key departments, and
utilize and refocus existing expertise, we anticipate a collaborative,
successful transition into one combined publishing entity.
Not only are we growing as a company with a strong presence in both the
publishing and the oil and gas industries, but we see the future as one with
unlimited opportunity to learn, explore, and expand as a leading company in
what we do best. Key benefits for our customers include a more powerful,
recognized industry partner, a unified sales force, and extended expertise in
the energy and construction sectors. New and expanded products in both digital
and print media will give readers a broader understanding of the industries we
serve and help advertisers reach specific target audiences.
We are working hard to collaborate, improve, and grow. We anticipate a
smooth transition and fully operational joint services in cohesive areas by
the end of 2009.
