Julian Fantino To Stay On As OPP Commissioner



    McGuinty Government Reappoints Fantino Through To July 2010

    TORONTO, June 9 /CNW/ -

    NEWS

    Commissioner Julian Fantino will lead the Ontario Provincial Police until
the end of July 2010.
    Fantino will lead the OPP through the G8 Summit in Huntsville from June
25-27, 2010, where the OPP will provide support for the international event.
    A search for Commissioner Fantino's successor will begin next January.
    Julian Fantino was appointed Commissioner of the OPP in October, 2006.
His distinguished policing career spans four decades, which includes serving
as Chief of Police in London, York Region and Toronto.
