Jovian Subsidiaries Launch CIBC Gartman Global Allocation Deposit Notes, Series 1



    TORONTO, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - Jovian Capital Corporation ("Jovian")      
(JVN: TSX-V) and its subsidiaries Jove Investment Management Inc. and
Gibraltar Consulting Group are pleased to announce the launch of the CIBC
Gartman Global Allocation Deposit Notes, Series 1. The Note will be
sub-advised by The Gartman Letter, L.C., the publisher of The Gartman Letter.
Its author, Dennis Gartman, is a leading global markets trader and analyst.
This Note is the first investment product ever to benefit from Mr. Gartman's
participation as investment advisor.
    The performance of the Note will be linked to the Gartman Index, a
proprietary index offering long, short or neutral exposure in various
weightings to any combination of 22 underlying equity, commodity, bond and
currency sub-indices, as selected by Dennis Gartman on a monthly basis.

    About Dennis Gartman and The Gartman Letter L.C.
    Dennis Gartman, the author of The Gartman Letter, has worked in the
capital markets since 1974. Born in Akron, Ohio, Gartman received his B.A.
from the University of Akron and M.A. from North Carolina State University.
After finishing his graduate work in the mid-1970s, he worked as an economist
for Cotton Inc., analyzing cotton supply/demand in the U.S. textile industry.
From there he went to North Carolina National Bank where he traded foreign
