MONTREAL, Sept. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - To mark the 11th annual Journées de la
culture, you are cordially invited to join us in celebrating scientific
knowledge at the Electrium, Hydro-Québec's electricity interpretation centre.
The whole family can have fun while exploring the many different facets of
electricity. A special program of activities will be offered in addition to
the regular guided tour. For this occasion, the Electrium will be open during
the last week-end of September (September 29 and 30) from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Science made easy
Accompanied by our guides, you'll discover what electricity does in the
human body, where lightning comes from, the secrets of the electric eel and
the beneficial role played by the Earth's magnetic field. Also on the program
are a host of special activities sure to delight visitors of all ages: the
screening of a film called Follow the Line that tells the story of the awesome
journey of electricity from the power station to your home, a makeup workshop
for younger children (Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), fabric
painting and more. All these activities are free, as usual. We look forward to
seeing you there.
Visitors aged 5 to 14 are also invited to enter a drawing contest on
electricity-related themes. The artists who produce the three most creative
pictures will each win a gift pack.

More fun in the area: Go on an artistic voyage of discovery
Take advantage of your visit to the Electrium to discover other
activities and artists in neighboring towns who are ready to welcome you to
their studios. The Lajemmerais Journées de la culture program is posted on the
RCM's website, http://tc.lajemmerais.ca/francais/culture/chassealart.html.
Plus, when you visit the Electrium, you can enter a draw for a chance to
win a work by an artist from the Lajemmerais RCM. Good luck!
