Joey's hook customers with Online Maritime Festival



    
    National contest offers trips to Atlantic Canada Favourites Peggy's
    Cove & Green Gables
    

    CALGARY, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - Beginning October 13th Joey's launches its
national on-line consumer contest with three exciting trips to be won in
Atlantic Canada. Winners will explore some of Canada's most renowned sites
including Peggy's Cove, Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site, and Green
Gables. The contest runs until November 30, 2008.
    "We are very excited about this year's Maritime Festival, and our east
coast inspired menu items that are available throughout the contest," says
Kathy Campitelli, VP Marketing, Joey's Only Seafood Restaurants. "We love
giving our customers the chance to win prizes. This year's packages to
Atlantic Canada are outstanding. I just wish I could enter to win!"
    Regarding the menu items Campitelli explained, "We are featuring new
dishes for this campaign - with a decidedly East Coast twist. The seafood
dishes include Lobster Bisque, Stuffed Salmon and Shrimp Scampi, Classic Cod
and Chips and Bluenose Spicy Mussels. To finish the meal in style, Joey's is
featuring an old favorite, Rice Pudding."
    Joey's will be giving away three (3) week-long trips for two to Atlantic
Canada. One trip will be given away from each of the following regions:
British Columbia/Alberta, Saskatchewan/Manitoba, and Ontario. Each trip is six
(6) nights and seven (7) days and includes flights into Montreal and out of
Halifax, an overnight ride on VIA Rail's Ocean Train with Sleeping
Accommodations, and a guided tour, provided by Ambassatours, through New
Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
    Campitelli explained that Joey's is promoting the contest with 30-second
spots on radio stations across Canada and online on with banner ads on
www.canada.com. Other marketing components include a print ad in WestJet's UP!
magazine and direct mail flyers. Also included in the mix are in-store,
point-of-sale materials including a flyer handed out with each bill to remind
customers to enter the contest online when they get home. Some franchisees are
also incorporating newspaper ads. As well, the campaign is being promoted
through Joey's opt-in email marketing program called "Mariner's Club".
