Jewish Defence League of Canada to Confront Terror Support Groups

TORONTO, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - Since the Jewish Defence Leagues' recent
revival, we have taken the position of being the sentinel of anti-Semitic and
anti-Israeli attacks.
Recently, leaders of the Canadian Arab Community met in Cairo with
leaders from Hezballa, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, to consolidate
co-operation. We believe this Israel Apartheid Week programme is an attempt to
foment hatred for the Jewish people and justification for the terrorists.
From February 3rd to February 10th, a number of anti-Jewish/Israel groups
from the Universities of Toronto, York, Montreal, Ryerson, Ottawa, McMaster
and others will be out in force participating in "Israeli Apartheid Week
2008".
As abhorrent as this is to us, within the Jewish Community, there are
many thousands of students who are subjected to this incitement on a regular
basis. It seems that if the lie is big enough, loud enough and repeated often
enough, people will believe it. Their programme includes forums on the
"Holocaust industry", the "Exploitation of Jewish suffering", the "Misuse of
anti-Semitism", and the "Ethnic cleansing of Israel".
We, within the Jewish community have been watching this take place for
several years and have not responded, hoping that this insanity will go away.
Much the same as our ill-fated Jews did in Germany and the rest of the world
during the 1930's.
"The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is that good people do
nothing." - E. Burke.
The Jewish Defence League calls on all Jewish community organizations to
unite. We must respond to this vicious rhetoric, untruths, slander and
downright evil-mindedness. We must answer all of the lies that are laid at
Israel's door with factual truths. It is our intention to demonstrate in front
of Ryerson University's lecture hall at the starting programme of this
abomination week. We are inviting all Jewish organizations to help by joining
with us in this demonstration. Show that the Jewish Community as a whole
resents this gross untruth about our spiritual home.
