Jays Add Purcey to Roster



    TORONTO, Nov. 20 /CNW/ - The Toronto Blue Jays announce that LHP DAVID
PURCEY has been added to the 40-man roster. OF CODY HAERTHER has been
designated for assignment.
    PURCEY, 25, recently completed a successful Arizona Fall League schedule,
high-lighted by a Player-of-the-Week award ending November 12. The 6'5"
240 lb. left-hander finished the winter season 1-2 with a 1.23 ERA in six
starts. He registered 25 strikeouts and allowed only 13 hits in 22 IP. The St.
Charles, Illinois native spent the 2007 season with New Hampshire (AA) of the
Eastern League, posting a 3-5 record with a 5.37 ERA in 11 starts.
    The Blue Jays now have a total of 40 players on the 40-man roster, a
complete list is below.

Janssen, League, Litsch, Machi, Marcum, McGowan, Purcey, Romero, Ryan, Tallet,
