IP Law & Technology Centre of Excellence Launched by Osgoode Hall Law School



    TORONTO, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - Osgoode Hall Law School of York University,
Canada's Law School for the Knowledge Society, is launching IP Osgoode, a new
Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Technology Program that will provide an
independent and authoritative voice on intellectual property issues and
broaden and enhance the relevant public policy debates and practices in
Canada.
    Five leading law firms with recognized reputations and presence in the IP
and/or technology fields in Canada as well as two industry leaders will be
partners with Osgoode in this groundbreaking initiative. One of the world's
leading authorities on IP law will be returning to Osgoode from the University
of Oxford to help lead the IP Osgoode program.
    The Honourable John Wilkinson, Minister of Research and Innovation for
Ontario, will join Osgoode representatives and members of the Intellectual
Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) at the launch of IP Osgoode.
