9,000 students will participate in the Caring for Others School Project
on May 13
MONTREAL, May 12 /CNW Telbec/ - The 10th edition of the Caring for Others
School Project, an annual awareness event organized by Centraide to promote an
appreciation of volunteering and community service among children, will take
place on May 13, 2009. Hundreds of community agency spokespersons and
volunteers will speak about the importance of community involvement in 200
primary schools throughout the province.
Thousands of Grade 4 students will participate in caring activities, meet
inspiring adult volunteers and celebrate the project's 10th anniversary.
The Caring for Others School Project will take place simultaneously in
every region of Quebec on the morning of May 13. This activity is designed to
enable children to explore the values of caring, generosity and opening up to
others. It also aims to raise their awareness of their local community
agencies, and to open the door to a lifetime of civic engagement and
