MONTREAL, Aug. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - The Brunet banner announced today the
launch of Brunet Plus, a new generation of stores offering a wider variety of
products focused on health. Designed to meet the demands of an extremely
competitive market and to offer customers the widest selection of products,
Brunet Plus already boasts eight stores in Quebec. Brunet plans to convert 20
of its stores over to the Brunet Plus concept by September 2010.
"Since Brunet was founded in 1855, they have always been of the
cutting-edge of the health sector and even more so now with Brunet Plus,"
explained Serge Boulanger, Vice-President and General Manager of McMahon
Distributeur pharmaceutique inc., a subsidiary of Metro Richelieu Inc. and the
franchisee of the Brunet banner. "The Brunet Plus concept is to feature a
greater selection of products and the larger stores also offer a new,
distinctive appearance", added Mr. Boulanger.
Brunet Plus offers the same professional and personalized service that
can be found at all the Brunet stores, but with a little Plus: more products,
more choice and more departments. Under the Brunet Plus banner, customers will
find a broader offering of dermo-cosmetic skin care products, a fine selection
of candy, chocolate and cookies, a complete line of pet food and accessories,
a wide array of photo albums and frames, more brands of perfumes and
sunglasses, more small electronics (e.g. razors, curling irons, hair dryers),
a full range of eco-friendly household cleaning products, plus much more.
Brunet Plus stores are easily recognized thanks to new storefront signs.
All stores will have a minimum surface area of 7,000 square feet, with some as
large as 10,000 square feet.
The Brunet banner celebrated its 154th anniversary in 2009. In the same
innovative spirit behind the company's longstanding success, Brunet will
continue to expand its selection and plans to open several new stores over the
coming year. There are currently 122 Brunet stores in Quebec.
