OTTAWA, June 27 /CNW/ - Join Kraft Peanut Butter Bears 'Smoothie' and
'Crunchy' as they give free bear hugs at ByWard Market in an effort to relieve
hunger in Ottawa. For each hug given, Kraft Peanut Butter will donate one 500
gram jar of Kraft Peanut Butter to The Ottawa Food Bank. For those who can't
make it to ByWard Market, help Spread the Feeling online by visiting
spreadthefeeling.ca to send a virtual hug. Whether online or in person, Kraft
hopes to generate enough hugs to donate up to 5,000 jars of Kraft Peanut
Butter to The Ottawa Food Bank.
The Ottawa Food Bank experiences a steep decline in donations during the
summer months when many Ottawa residents are on vacation. Unfortunately hunger
never takes a vacation, which means donations are especially important this
time of year. Supporting more than 130 food programs, The Ottawa Food Bank
helps 40,000 individuals per month, 16,000 of whom are children. Peanut butter
is an important food product as it is a source of four essential nutrients and
is a part of the array of nutritious foods that helps them get the balanced
diet they require.
