MasterCard Launches Search for Canada's Hockey Mom of the Year
TORONTO, April 20 /CNW/ - Sacrificing weekends, driving carpool across
the city, and 5 a.m. wake-up calls. These daunting tasks are all too familiar
to Canada's hockey parents. But how do hockey parents support their children
in the love of the game, and stay positive and enthusiastic from the stands?
Hockey legend Bobby Orr has some unique insight to share about the rules of
hockey parenting and what it takes to be the best hockey parent with minor
hockey playoffs in full swing.
What: Interview opportunity with hockey legend Bobby Orr
When: MONDAY, APRIL 23
- How does someone become a great hockey parent?
- What role did your parents play in your success?
- What's the most appropriate way to encourage your child before,
during and after the game?
To celebrate hockey moms across the country, MasterCard Canada has
launched a national contest in search of Canada's Hockey Mom of the Year. To
nominate a mom worthy of the title, visit www.mastercard.ca between April 9
and April 30, 2007, and in 250 words or less, tell us why the selected mom
should be crowned "Hockey Mom of the Year." Three finalists will be chosen and
will be flown to Vancouver, along with their families, to attend the 2007
MasterCard Memorial Cup. The grand prize winner will be recognized during an
on-ice presentation by MasterCard Canada, long-time hockey mom Linda Staal and
Bobby Orr at the final game.
