Interview Opportunity - So You Want To Fight Fires?

Interactive Career Simulations Improve Understanding of Ontario-Based
    Jobs

HUNTSVILLE, ON, Sept. 17 /CNW/ - Virtual worlds are no longer limited to
the entertainment realm. Business, government and the educational system are
all exploring the possibilities. Case in point, the Ontario Public Service
(OPS) has recently established a virtual presence to showcase the range of
jobs available in Ontario's public sector. Users fight virtual fires, analyze
traffic patterns using live video feeds throughout Ontario and virtually test
water samples among other career simulations.
On Wednesday, October 1, Leigh Rowan, VP of Interactive Marketing at the
TheSLAgency, will be presenting information on Leveraging Virtual Worlds for
Government at Ontario's Digital Economy Conference in Huntsville, Ontario. He
will be discussing innovative ways that the Ontario Public Service and other
Ontario Ministries are using virtual worlds, as well as discuss effective
solutions for keeping this burgeoning technology manageable and successful.
Rowan will be available for interviews in the days leading up to the
Conference.
Ontario's Digital Economy Conference, sponsored by FedNor, the Province
of Ontario and Muskoka Community Network, will take place at Deerhurst Resort
and Conference Centre in Huntsville, on October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Leigh Rowan
will be presenting on October 1 between 6 and 8 pm.
