MONTREAL, Jan. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Ever wondered who has enough of an
adrenalin craving to race down a 535 m urban ice track that twists through
Canada's steepest streets with nothing but a pair of skates, gravity and
75,000 roaring spectators fueling their pace!?!? Now's your chance to find
out! Montreal's quickest, sharpest and most aggressive will travel to Quebec
City to compete against the best from across the country to become the Red
Bull Crashed Ice champion.
Red Bull Crashed Ice, a combination of hockey, downhill skiing, and
boardercross, will take over the historic district of Old Quebec for the third
year in a row. Hockey players and action-sports enthusiasts from
coast-to-coast will have the chance to race through Quebec City, in
consecutive heats of four skaters, racing head-to-head in a double elimination
bracket, narrowing the field down from 64 to a final four, on a course riddled
with massive vertical drops, razor-sharp turns, jumps and steps.
Get up close and personal with Montreal's competitors to talk about what
it takes to make it to the finals, how they've prepared and find out what they
anticipate for Quebec City. Do they have the attitude and energy to beat
defending champion Kevin Olson (also winner of Red Bull Crashed Ice Helsinki)?
