Scotiabank proudly announces sponsorship of NHL Alumni Association

TORONTO, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - Scotiabank and the NHL Alumni Association today
announced a new sponsorship, through which Scotiabank becomes the Official
Bank of the NHL Alumni Association. This sponsorship formalizes a partnership
that will result in new ways to promote the game of hockey and bring exciting
opportunities to Canadian fans.
"There are thousands of families in communities across Canada who live
the hockey experience every day," said John Doig, Scotiabank Senior
Vice-President, Domestic Marketing. "As the Official Bank of the NHL Alumni
Association, working with hockey's greatest legends, we will look for
opportunities to bring unique experiences to hockey fans across Canada. We're
thrilled to be working with the NHL Alumni Association and its members."

Association and Scotiabank. Scotiabank was a presenting sponsor of the
Baycrest International Pro Am Hockey Tournament and NHL Alumni Association
Executive Director served as a judge for Scotiabank's national "Build Stanley"

leagues professional hockey that predate the NHL. In addition to becoming the
Official Bank of National Hockey League, National Hockey League Players
Association in Canada, and the Canadian Women's Hockey League, Scotiabank
currently has partnerships with the Calgary Flames and with the Ottawa
Senators whose home arena is Scotiabank Place. Scotiabank also partners with
CBC's Hockey Night in Canada to sponsor its pre-game show, Scotiabank Hockey
Tonight, and the Scotiabank Hockey Tonight Kids segment.

Scotiabank is committed to supporting the communities in which we live
and work, both in Canada and abroad. Recognized as a leader internationally
and among Canadian corporations for its charitable donations and philanthropic
activities, in 2007 the Bank provided more than $43 million in sponsorships
