Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Launches Powerful Documentary, Writing on the Wall

An in-depth look at literacy in Canada

TORONTO, Sept. 18 /CNW/ - Writing on the Wall, a telling documentary
launched by the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation, shines a spotlight on the
state of literacy in schools across Canada.
Early literacy is the basis of self-esteem and a clear indicator of
future success. It is imperative that our schools and our children are
equipped with the resources they need to succeed.

The importance of investing in literacy is clear:

        - A one per cent increase in literacy can add more than $18 billion
           to the Canadian economy(1)
        - 80 per cent of people who end up in jail are functionally
           illiterate(2)
        - Almost half of all Canadians have trouble with day-to-day reading
           tasks(3)

Join Heather Reisman, Indigo Books & Music Inc. CEO and Indigo Love of
Reading Foundation President, for the premiere of Writing on the Wall and get
a front row seat for the compelling story of communities working to improve
literacy in our schools.
