Important: To all media covering today's Apology to residential school survivors

OTTAWA, June 11 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations is asking
all media who are covering the June 11 2008 apology to residential school
survivors to please include, as part of your coverage, information about
support services available for residential school survivors.
The two key points we are asking that media include in their coverage
are:

    - That a 24 hour toll-free crisis line is available to provide immediate
emotional assistance and can be reached 24-hours a day, seven days a
      week: 1-866-925-4419.
    - That other support services and information for survivors is available
      on the AFN website at:
      http://www.afn.ca/residentialschools/resources.html

We would like to thank the media who have already broadcast this number
or included it on their website for this important public service. We ask
other media who have not yet done so to please consider including this
information in your coverage today and tomorrow.
