IMERYS Pigments for Paper North America to Increase Ground Calcium Carbonate Prices

ATLANTA, November 9 /CNW/ - IMERYS Pigments for Paper North America will
raise ground calcium carbonate (GCC) prices by an average of 8% for its
pigments for paper product lines effective January 1, 2008, as contracts
allow.

Significant cost pressures in chemicals, mining, fuel, and power are key
drivers for the announced price increases. Despite Imerys' continual
investment to mitigate these effects, price increases are necessary to achieve
a sustainable pigment business and meet the demands of the paper industry.

IMERYS Pigments for Paper is a world leading producer of white pigments,
manufacturing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and precipitated calcium
carbonate (PCC). The business group serves the needs of the international
paper industry and employs 2,846 people, operates 44 industrial sites in 19
countries and represents 23% of Imerys' overall revenue.
