IMAX Corporation Announces Full Exercise of Over-allotment Option



    NEW YORK, June 25 /CNW/ - IMAX Corporation (NASDAQ:  IMAX; TSX:IMX)
announced today that the underwriter of its recently completed public offering
has exercised in full its option to purchase an additional 1,470,000 common
shares at the public offering price of $7.15 per share. The exercise of the
over-allotment option brings the total number of common shares sold by IMAX in
the offering to 11,270,000. Including proceeds from the exercise of the
over-allotment option, gross proceeds for the offering are expected to be
approximately $80.6 million.
    Closing of the over-allotment option is expected to occur on or about
June 26, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions.
    IMAX intends to use the net proceeds from the offering for the repayment
of debt, including a portion of its 9 5/8% Senior Notes due December 2010, and
for general corporate purposes.
    Roth Capital Partners, LLC acted as the underwriter for the offering.
