Canada's national wish granter salutes those dads who make a difference
PICKERING, ON, June 12 /CNW/ - Everyday fathers across Canada are making
a difference in the lives of their children. Every day somewhere in Canada,
wishes are coming true for nearly three Canadian children, each diagnosed with
a high-risk life-threatening illness, due in great part to the incredible
efforts of the fathers of wish children.
In celebration of their efforts and with Father's Day on June 15, The
Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is saluting these heroic men - from
communities large and small - who make such an incredible difference in the
lives of their children and families, especially during the most difficult of
"Behind every wish child is a wish dad who often is the silent hero,"
says Chris Kotsopoulos, Executive Director, The Children's Wish Foundation of
Canada. "By working together with these fathers - the ones who know their
children the best - Children's Wish is able to help provide these wonderful
kids with the opportunity to realize one of their most heartfelt wishes - and
often being something they want to share with their families."

Established in 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is a
national non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling a favorite wish for
children diagnosed with high-risk, life-threatening illnesses. Since its
inception, Children's Wish has granted almost 14,000 wishes for children and
their families and fulfills approximately 900 wishes annually - granting
nearly three wishes everyday - each being an individual adventure, carefully
