PHOENIX, Jan. 31 /CNW/ -- The Institute of Business Forecasting (IBF) is
holding its 7th annual Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting Conference at the
Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in Phoenix, Arizona on February 25-27, 2007.
With over 20 educational sessions, 3 pre-conference workshops, a 1-day
hands-on statistical forecasting tutorial, and an exhibit hall full of
forecasting software vendors and consultants, this forum on supply chain and
demand planning should rank among the best.
"Our Supply Chain Planning and Forecasting Conferences are geared towards
practitioners and aim to help improve forecasting performance" said Constance
Korol, IBF's Marketing and Events Manager. IBF events draw attendees and
presenters from all over the world and across many industries to share real-
world experiences with their colleagues. Professionals from Demand Planning,
Supply Chain, Sales, Production, and more, comprise the wide range of
disciplines that attend IBF events.
Attendees will study tried and true forecasting and supply chain
practices, including those that have succeeded at Hewlett-Packard, Intel,
Ebay, Kraft, Amgen, Gerber, and more. The IBF's Sales and Operations Planning
(S&OP) workshop will examine concepts enabling beginners to grasp them and put
them into action. Of course, IBF's sessions give more advanced practitioners
tips for continuous improvement as well.
The IBF has lined up 39 experienced professionals in Phoenix to discuss
the importance of investing in supply chain forecasting and demand planning.
This year's Keynote Address -- "Creating Company Value through Forecasting and
Planning" -- will be presented by Avnet's Greg Frazer (Executive VP) and
Therese Bassett (VP of Corporate Strategic Planning and Business
Intelligence). Among the lessons learned that attendees will be able to take
from the conference, you will hear Cavendish Farms, "Worst Practices in
Forecasting," as well as "Forecasting and Calculating Safety Stock" from Heinz
and many more. Details can be found at http://www.ibf.org/0702pr.cfm.
