IABC/Toronto's Corporate Matchmaking seminar and networking event to offer unique insight for marketers



    PR Industry Leaders share tips on selecting and working with business
    partners

    TORONTO, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - IABC/Toronto's Corporate Matchmaking seminar and
Munch 'n' Mingle will highlight the importance of business relationship
building and finding the perfect business partner. A major snow storm in
February forced the association to reschedule its program to March 4, 2008.
    "Our panel will share tips to guide corporations and organizations on how
to best select and work with a marketing communications agency and other
business partners," says Sheila Corriveau, the moderator and co-founder of
AgencyLink Inc. According to industry statistics compiled by
Dun & Bradstreet's Hoovers, the number of marketing agencies operating in
Canada that employ more than one person has grown to 5,644 in 2007. The figure
also includes 564 public relations firms across the nation.
    Marketing communications professionals and business partners, members and
non-members, can attend one or both events at a reduced rate. The programs

    The interactive seminar will run from 4 to 6 p.m. and the dynamic panel
will feature the three agencies that won IABC/Toronto OVATION Agency Awards in
2006/2007:

    
    -   Sheila Corriveau, Partner, AgencyLink Inc., will moderate and deliver
        opening remarks about client/agency relationships and working with
        the right business partners to deliver effective communication
        programs. Selecting the right agency can often take companies up to

        products, services and culture.

    -   Cathy Cowan, President, Cowan & Company Communications - IABC/Toronto
        OVATION Small Agency Winner, will be joined by Ana Marie Atkinson,

        practices into client/agency relationships based on their work
        together to promote 35 restaurants in Ontario and Quebec.

    -   Ken Evans, Vice-President, Corporate Communications, APEX Public
        Relations - IABC/Toronto OVATION Mid-Size Agency Winner and Agency of
        the Year recipient, in partnership with Kelly Harper, Director and
        Head of Marketing, BMO Retail Investments, will discuss how detailed
        research and early engagements in the planning process delivered a
        comprehensive strategy that has given BMO the distinctive voice
        necessary to engage Canadian boomers

    -   John Thibodeau, Vice-President, Media Profile - IABC/Toronto OVATION
        Large Agency Winner, will join Cynthia Keeshan, Corporate
        Communications & PR Manager, Microsoft Canada, to outline the
        importance of client/agency partnership in managing an in-depth and
        ongoing image and reputation management campaign. They will focus on
        their procedures and the impact of their results.
