Hydro-Québec issues reminder about power line safety

MONTREAL, Feb. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - Given the abundant snowfall this winter,
Hydro-Québec wishes to remind the public to avoid piling snow too high under
power lines and near electric facilities, so as to avoid any contact with the
power system or its equipment. A vertical clearance of at least three metres
must be maintained between a snowbank and any nearby power line. Hydro-Québec
has already made certain municipalities aware of the importance of observing
this safety rule. Hydro-Québec thanks the public for their cooperation and
stresses that these safety measures are essential for preventing electrical
injuries.
