WINNIPEG, March 29 /CNW/ - Huntingdon Real Estate Investment Trust
("HREIT") (TSX: HNT.UN) announced today that it has closed its previously
announced public offering (the "Offering") of 5 Year 7.50% Series C
Convertible Redeemable Unsecured Subordinated Debentures (the "Debentures")
pursuant to which HREIT issued 42,000 Debentures in the aggregate principal
amount of $42,000,000. The Offering was completed on a "best efforts" basis,
through a syndicate of agents led by Blackmont Capital Inc., and including
Dundee Securities Corporation, National Bank Financial Inc., Desjardins
Securities Inc., HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc., Raymond James Ltd., Wellington
West Capital Inc. and Westwind Partners Inc. (collectively, the "Agents").
HREIT has agreed to grant the Agents an over-allotment option to acquire 6,300
Debentures in the aggregate principal amount of $6,300,000, exercisable at any
time within 30 days of closing of the Offering.
HREIT intends to use the net proceeds of the Offering to fund future
acquisitions of income producing properties, working capital and general
