Huntingdon REIT announces additions to the board of trustees



    WINNIPEG, June 12 /CNW/ - Huntingdon Real Estate Investment Trust
("HREIT") (TSX: HNT.UN) announced today the election of two additional
trustees at the Annual and Special Meeting of unitholders, which was held on
June 11, 2007. The election of Messrs. Scott Hutcheson and Colin Reid
increases HREIT's Board of Trustees to six members, of which five members are
independent trustees.
    Mr. Hutcheson is a founder, President & CEO and the Chairman of the Board
of Directors of Aspen Properties Ltd. Aspen is primarily involved in the
ownership and management of downtown office buildings in Calgary and Edmonton.
Aspen co-owns and manages approximately three million square feet of office
space in 12 buildings and 3,000 parking stalls, representing nearly $1 billion
in assets, including landmarks such as the Calgary Tower and the Scotia
buildings in both Edmonton and Calgary. Other corporate investments are in
Belize and Shanghai. Mr. Hutcheson has grown Aspen from one employee in 1998
to more than 160 employees today. Prior to joining Aspen Properties, Mr.
Hutcheson served as President of a real estate partnership in Florida that
included a major university endowment fund. Mr. Hutcheson was also previously
employed as an investment banker for Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York and San
Francisco. Mr. Hutcheson holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia
University and a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Utah. He skied
for the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team from 1978 to 1982 and competed in
the World Cup and the World Championships for Canada. Mr. Hutcheson was also a
member of the NCAA Championship Ski Team during 1983 where he was First Team
All-American. Mr. Hutcheson is a member of the Ranchmen's Club in Calgary, a
member of the Board of Directors of CODA (Calgary Olympic Development
Association), a member of Young President's Organization, and a co-owner of
the Norquay Ski Area in Banff.
    Mr. Reid is a graduate of the Society of Management Accountants with over
25 years experience in the real estate industry. He holds a Bachelor of
Science degree from the University of Manitoba. Before becoming involved in
the acquisition of real estate, Mr. Reid was Senior Vice-President of Real
Estate at Barclays Bank of Canada. Prior to that, he held executive positions
at various financial institutions. Since 1996, Mr. Reid has been involved in
the acquisition, financing and asset management of a number of commercial,
industrial and retail properties in Ontario and Manitoba
