Hundreds to partake in two colourful parades with 50-legged dragon in streets of Toronto, Saturday



    TORONTO, Sept. 11 /CNW Telbec/ -

    
    What:      Two colourful parades, comprised of hundreds of members of the
               International Taoist Tai Chi Society, complete with floats,
               flags and fun and the LONGEST TRADITIONAL CHINESE DRAGON in
               North America, measuring 330 ft. (100 m.), supported by
               50 strong and agile pairs of arms, appearing for the first
               time in GTA.
               As participants gather for the parade, they will take part in
               a demonstration of the 108-move set of the Taoist Tai Chi(TM)
               internal arts of health. After the downtown parade, buses
               filled with dragons, floats, marching bands, marchers etc.
               will be escorted by two dozen motorcycled police officers to
               Richmond Hills for second parade.

    Why:       The International Taoist Tai Chi Society is holding its 23rd
               annual Awareness Day Parade in downtown Toronto and opening a
               new Centre in Richmond Hill.

    When :     Saturday, September 12 - rain or shine (if it pours, dragon
               could stay in its lair.)

    Where :    Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto:
    8:30 a.m.  Demonstrations of Taoist Tai Chi(TM) internal arts of health
    10:00 a.m. Annual Awareness Day parade through downtown Toronto
    10:45 a.m. Parade ends at Nathan Phillips Square
    11:00 a.m. Buses depart for 371 Ohio Road, Richmond Hill, escorted by
               Metropolitan Toronto Police Services Motorcycle Group (Winged
               Wheels)

               Grand Opening of New Location at 371 Ohio Road, Richmond Hill
    12:00 p.m. Parade from Yonge Street down Elgin Mills to Ohio Road
    12:30 p.m. Demonstration of motorcycle precision by Winged Wheels
    1:00 p.m.  Grand Opening of the new location at 371 Ohio Road,
