TORONTO, Oct. 31 /CNW/ - The Humber River Regional Hospital Foundation's
fifth annual Women's Health and Wellness day held its most successful event to
date yesterday at Copper Creek Golf Club in Kleinburg.
Over 250 friends of Humber River came out to support the hospital and
participate in the day-long event that included discussions from medical
experts on a variety of women's health topics, a keynote address by
award-winning broadcaster Valerie Pringle, and a "hilarious" presentation on
"Live Life Laughing!" by Sue Bhanot, a Registered Yoga Therapist.
"We're extremely pleased that our Women's Health and Wellness Day has
become such a "must attend" event," said Humber River Regional Hospital
Foundation President Debra Bond-Gorr. "This year we set a very impressive
record for the number of registrations and sponsorship we received and we are
truly grateful for that."
Yesterday's event netted $37,000 in support of the Foundation's three
year, $10 million campaign to purchase a new Image Management System (IMS) for
"Women's health is an important issue every day," said Bond-Gorr. "We're
so proud to offer an event that encourages and promotes women's wellness, and
helps us to share information about women's wellness with our community."
