HP Canada named to federal government National Master Standing Offer in the monochrome laser printer category

Multiple HP LaserJet models now available to federal government departments nationally

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 17 /CNW/ - Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co. today announced it has been named to the Canadian federal government National Master Standing Offer (NMSO) in the monochrome laser printer category. The appointment effectively allows HP authorized NMSO resellers to sell monochrome LaserJet devices to Canadian federal government departments for the first time in more than three years.

"We are very excited to be back on the federal government NMSO and are looking forward to providing access to the full range of HP printing devices to our important public service customers," said Gary Drysdale, vice president, LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions, HP Canada. "HP currently has the largest install base of laser printers across the federal government environment and many departments have already standardized on HP. Today's announcement means the wait is over for our government customers that want HP devices to fill gaps in their printing infrastructure or to upgrade older legacy systems."

The LaserJet devices available through the NMSO are primarily designed to support workgroups and offer a range of features and technical specifications to meet the varying requirements of different government departments. Available models include:

  • HP LaserJet P4515x
  • HP LaserJet P4015x
  • HP LaserJet P2055dn

"From a reseller perspective, HP's addition to the NMSO is perfect timing for government departments looking for complete print solutions," said Alec Milne, president, Printers Plus. "We are seeing an increased demand by those looking to reconfigure current systems to create a managed environment that supports every print requirement. Now we can offer government customers an expanded catalogue of printer options that will help them achieve their objectives while optimizing costs."

The addition of HP to the government NMSO allows HP authorized NMSO resellers to offer a number of printer-related features and benefits that help reduce costs, increase IT security, and live up to environmental commitments. Key benefits of the printers available through the NMSO include:

  • Up to 50% faster warm-up time and energy savings with Instant-On Technology and ENERGY STAR qualification
  • Reduced paper consumption of up to 50% with automatic two-sided printing capabilities
  • Fast, secure performance across the network with advanced IPSec encryption
  • The prevention of unauthorized access with management features like 802.1X authentication and password protection
  • Simplified fleet management and reduced IT costs with HP Web Jetadmin (software that allows for easy installation, monitoring and troubleshooting  a wide range of network peripherals from a single browser interface)
  • Expandable paper handling and finishing options so printers can be upgraded to meet changing department needs

The HP LaserJet devices covered by the NMSO are available to federal government customers from HP authorized NMSO resellers immediately.

HP is expecting to announce the availability of additional printer models for resale over the coming weeks. For ongoing updates and more information on available devices, please visit: www.hp.ca/newprinternmso
