House & Home Media to launch French-language magazine in Quebec

TORONTO, Aug. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Lynda Reeves and her team at House & Home
Media are moving into the Quebec marketplace with a new monthly magazine,
entitled Maison & Demeure, launching in January 2009.
The new magazine will be a unique package, combining national content
from Canadian House & Home magazine, with new, original articles featuring the
work of designers, architects, stylists and chefs from Quebec.
"Quebec has wonderful houses, shops and restaurants, spectacular country
estates, chic lofts and a deep and diverse pool of design talent. We can't
wait to get started," says Lynda Reeves, President of House & Home Media.
House & Home Media's new monthly French title, Maison & Demeure will be
staffed with a Quebec-based editorial team, and will include original content
generated by Quebec-based contributors.
"We have a reputation for investing in editorial content and we will be
continuing that tradition with the new magazine," says Reeves.
The demand for a French-language design and lifestyle magazine from the
publishers of Canadian House & Home has been building over recent years,
thanks to an increased awareness of the House & Home brand amongst
French-speaking Canadians living in Quebec.
Strong retail sales of the House & Home: Style for Living(TM) merchandise
collection at HBC retailers in Quebec, keen interest in the development of a
French version of House & Home Television with Lynda Reeves, and significant
growth in circulation and readership of the English-language Canadian House &
Home magazine in Quebec all contributed to Reeves' decision to create a new
French-language publication for Quebec newsstands and subscribers.
12 issues of Maison & Demeure will be published in 2009, with an
anticipated paid circulation of 27,000 in the first year, growing to
58,000 paid copies in 2010.
Alex Cooper, House & Home Media's Vice-President of Strategic Planning
and Circulation, is optimistic about growth opportunities in the Quebec
marketplace from both newsstand sales and subscribers.
Says Kirby Miller, General Manager of H&H Media, "I can't believe how
positive and receptive the Quebec market has been to our plans to launch this
new magazine. The support of the advertising community has surpassed even our
expectations."
Maison & Demeure will be supported by a new French-language website:
maisonetdemeure.com, set to launch fully in January 2009.
Advance subscriptions to Maison & Demeure will be available starting in
October 2008 on houseandhome.com and maisonetdemeure.com.

House & Home Media publishes 12 issues of Canadian House & Home magazine
per year, as well as two annual Special Interest Publications available on
newsstands across Canada.

Canadian House & Home is Canada's most widely read design and lifestyle
publication, reaching over 2.5 million readers across Canada (Source: PMB
2008).
