SEATTLE, April 30 /CNW/ - Horizon Air and TalkingRain Beverage Company
are joining forces to support Medical Teams International's (MTI) program to
provide free dental care to low-income families in Washington and Oregon.
Every year Horizon serves TalkingRain Artesian Spring Water and
TalkingRain Lemon-Lime Sparkling Water aboard its flights, TalkingRain will
contribute at least $12,000 to support MTI's Mobile Dental Van program.
"Horizon and TalkingRain embrace the importance of giving back to
communities we serve, particularly those here in our own backyard," said Jeff
Pinneo, Horizon president and CEO. "When we searched for a partner to help us
support MTI, TalkingRain was the perfect match. Together we're able to help
Medical Teams International provide needy children and adults the dental care
they desperately need and, aside from MTI's dental van program, would not
otherwise have access to."
"We are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful partnership," said Nina
Morrison, vice president, package design and development for TalkingRain.
"Horizon is a wonderful customer that shares our passion for our communities,
so when they presented this opportunity we couldn't resist."
Northwest-based MTI, formerly known as Northwest Medical Teams, utilizes
donated supplies and the experience of volunteer medical professionals to help
more than 1.3 million people a year worldwide. Closer to home, MTI operates a
fleet of 10 Mobile Dental Vans. These converted 38-foot Winnebago motor homes
are dental clinics on wheels, taking dental care to more than 17,000
low-income children and adults a year in Washington and Oregon.
"We are deeply grateful for this new partnership with Horizon Air and
TalkingRain," said Dick Frederick, Medical Teams International executive
director. "Our organization depends on donations and volunteerism to make a
difference in the lives of people around the world. This generous donation
will help make so many lives and smiles brighter, while helping us with our
ongoing mission to expand the dental van program."
