LONGUEUIL, QC, June 2, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ -The Jacques Cartier and
Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) wish to announce the
closure of ramp 2, the access ramp from La Prairie towards Montreal
from Friday, June 3 at 9:30 AM to Saturday, June 4 at 5 AM. This closure enables the continuing of the cement work for the expansion
joints of the new ramp that has been under construction since the end
of March. The exit ramp to La Prairie will remain open to traffic.
Signage will indicate the detours for motorists to use during this
period. To see the detour route, we invite you to consult the map
towards Montreal - http://bit.ly/cefr3D. Traffic may be heavier between 3 PM and 7 PM, during afternoon rush
hour on Friday.
Please note that repairs to this access ramp represent the last stage of
the first contract begun as part of the Honoré-Mercier Bridge repairs.
Currently, all the new prefabricated concrete deck panels have been put
in position. Over the course of the following weeks, it will be
necessary to install the new expansion joints, undertake the cement
work on all the joints, complete the post-tension apron, and pave and
add the painted markings of the lanes.
