Honda Fit, CR-V and Acura MDX Set Monthly Records
TORONTO, Oct. 2 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. reported September sales of
14,842 units by its Honda and Acura divisions. The combined Honda and Acura
division sales were down 12 per cent over last year. Honda automobile division
reported September sales of 13,317 units, down 9 per cent. Acura division
posted a 30 per cent decline with sales of 1,525 units.
"We continue to see strong sales of the Honda Fit premium hatchback,
which achieved record September sales," said Jim Miller, executive vice
president, Honda Canada Inc. "There continues to be strong demand for Civic,
but we were not able to meet that demand last month due to low inventory by
many of our dealers. We also saw a 96 per cent increase in Accord sales of
3,210 units, due in part to the new 2008 model that went on sale toward the
end of September."
Setting monthly sales records were the Honda CR-V (1,805 units, up 29%),
Honda Fit (895 units, up 13%) and the Acura MDX (462 units, up 13%).
