Honda Canada reports October sales



    New Honda Accord Sales Up 72 Per Cent

    TORONTO, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. reported October sales of
11,377 units by its Honda and Acura divisions. The combined Honda and Acura
division sales were down 9 per cent over last year. Honda automobile division
reported October sales of 10,123 units, down 6 per cent. Acura division posted
a 28 per cent decline with sales of 1,254 units.
    The new 2008 Honda Accord sedan and coupe, which went on sale the last
week of September, had strong sales results in October of 1,902 units - up 72
per cent over last year.

    Honda is the world's preeminent maker of engines for automobiles,
motorcycles and power equipment. With 130 manufacturing facilities in 29
countries worldwide, Honda now attracts nearly 20 million customers annually.
Honda Canada manufactures the Honda Ridgeline and Civic, and the Acura CSX and
MDX at its two plants in Alliston, Ontario. A third plant in Alliston, with
the capacity to produce up to 200,000 fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engines
annually, is scheduled to open in 2008.
