TORONTO, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - Honda Canada Inc. reported combined July sales of
12,984 units by its Honda and Acura divisions, a 19% decrease from last year.
The Honda Automobile Division reported July sales of 11,340 units, down 22%
from last year. The Acura Division reported July sales of 1,644 units, up 7%
over last year.
"Truck sales in July were supported by a 152 per cent monthly increase
for the Honda Ridgeline and a 29 per cent increase for Honda CR-V", said Jerry
Chenkin, executive vice president, Honda Canada Inc. "There was a 16 per cent
monthly increase for Acura MDX, which reported record sales for the fourth
month this year."
Now in its 40th year of operations in Canada, Honda Canada Inc. has sold
more than 3,200,000 Honda and Acura passenger cars and light-duty trucks.
Nearly half of all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in Canada in 2008 were made
in Canada - a higher percentage than any other vehicle manufacturer in Canada.
