ST. JACOBS, ON, July 4 /CNW/ - On Sunday, July 6th London, Ontario will
welcome teams from eighteen countries around the world to compete in the
prestigious American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Youth World Cup. Home

be the blue ribbon sponsor of this unique event as it returns to Canada for
the first time in almost a decade.

The 2008 Youth World cup is co-hosted by the Canadian Quarter Horse
Association and will be held from July 6 to July 13, 2008 at the Agriplex, on
the Western Fair Grounds. Countries that will be represented include:
Argentina/Brazil, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands,
New Zealand, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States.
The AQHA Youth World Cup is an educational event that combines friendly
competition with clinics and seminars from top Horsemen. During the
competition, each participating country is represented by a team of up to five
youth riders. The competing riders are accompanied by a team of non-competing
riders who are invited to participate in the educational portions of the
event. Each country is also able to send one team coach and a team manager.
Events during the World Cup include: Western Pleasure; Western Horsemanship;
Showmanship at Halter; Hunt Seat Equitation; Hunter Under Saddle; Trail;
Western Riding; and, Reining and Cutting. It is the responsibility of the host
country to provide horses for the riders during the events.
