                       Outperforms Citytv, CBC and TSN

                           Sets New Audience Record

TORONTO, Feb. 19 /CNW/ - History Television delivered all-time record
ratings for the channel with an all-day marathon of popular M(*)A(*)S(*)H(*) episodes,
making it the third-ranked English channel in Canadian television on Monday,
February 16, 2009. This triumphant victory also sets the record for the
highest single-day audience (2+) in Canadian specialty viewing.(*) The day's
audience averaged 234,000 viewers (2+), and pulled in 130,000 viewers in the
coveted A25-54 category.
"History Television has established itself as a powerhouse specialty
channel, and it just keeps getting stronger," said Daniel Eves, VP, Strategic
Programming, Specialty, Canwest. "The strength of our schedule combined with
the quality of the programming has increased our audiences in the key demos,
and continues to deliver record-breaking ratings for the channel."
Audience levels peaked during the epic 2.5 hour M(*)A(*)S(*)H(*) finale, which
aired at 6 pm ET/PT and delivered an audience of 606,000 (2+) and 329,000
(A25-54). This exceeded the network's previous high-water mark for
single-viewing for The Da Vinci Code at 556,300 (2+) and 314,700 (A25-54). Not
only is History Television the number two specialty channel (A25-54), but the
record-breaking ratings also placed the channel in the third-ranked position
in Canadian television for that day, ranking above conventional channels
Citytv and CBC and specialty channels TSN and Discovery Channel.
    History Television's Fall 2008 (A25-54) AMA grew 58% over Fall 2007,
establishing it as the number two Canadian specialty service. Viewers have
been flocking to programs such as Aftermath: The World Without Humans and
Battle 360, which use state-of-the-art technology and innovative production
techniques to create an immersive viewing experience. Series like The
Re-Inventors, and History Channel U.S.' hit Ax Men have brought more women and
younger viewers to the channel, while films from Hollywood and around the
world continue to deliver blockbuster ratings to the channel.
