Hilton Toronto offers North America's first Barbie(TM) and Hot Wheels(TM) rooms

Bringing the best of these brands to life for children through experience
    and play

TORONTO, June 26 /CNW/ - "Go to your room!" is usually a punishment from
angry parents. But this summer, children will be eager to hear those words
thanks to the debut of new Barbie(TM) and Hot Wheels(TM) themed hotel rooms at
Hilton Toronto. The first of their kind in North America, these experiential
rooms will be available for occupancy from June 29 through to September 2,
2007. Starting from CAD$229, Barbie and Hot Wheels themed room packages
include an overnight stay in the themed room, breakfast for the whole family,
and a fun check-out gift-bag for each child. Accompanying adults have the
option of adding an adjoining room to their reservation.
The Barbie and Hot Wheels themed rooms bring every aspect of the brands
to life - from furnishings and décor to play and entertainment. Inside the
rooms, a plethora of Barbie or Hot Wheels themed activities await, from
reading and movies to electronic learning games and role playing. There is
even a themed room service menu with food served on Barbie or Hot Wheels
dinnerware. These rooms integrate all elements of a child's day from playtime
and learning to quiet time, mealtime, bath time, and of course sleep time.
While guests in the Barbie room will be surrounded by pink, including a
beautiful pink-accented bed, the Hot Wheels room will get kids' hearts racing
with cool car-shaped beds and much more.
"These rooms are decorated with kids in mind," says Sandi Ricci,
Licensing Manager, Mattel Consumer Products. "This partnership between Mattel
and Hilton Toronto gives families and children a unique experience over their
summer holidays. Our licensing partners have developed fantastic product lines
that will be available in the rooms to help children enjoy the full lifestyle
experience of Barbie and Hot Wheels. Children will love the rooms for their
complete experience and parents will enjoy the playtime the experience
affords."
"Already ideally situated for family-friendly experiences, Hilton Toronto
is pleased to extend our international reputation for high standards of
service and hospitality with North America's first-ever Barbie and Hot Wheels
themed rooms," says Armin Schroecker, General Manager, Hilton Toronto. "This
partnership brings together two great brands, enabling travellers large and
small to experience even more memorable Hilton moments."
In addition to providing a fun experience for their guests, Hilton
Toronto and Mattel will be donating a portion of proceeds from the room rates
each time the Barbie and Hot Wheels rooms are occupied this summer to SickKids
Foundation, in support of the world-renowned research at The Hospital for Sick
Children.
Parents and kids can replicate the experience at home with Barbie and Hot
Wheels room décor to be launched by The Brick furniture stores across Canada
in July 2007. Furniture featured in the themed rooms will be available, as
well as coordinating pieces, bedding, and two additional furniture
collections. Each furniture piece can be personalized with decals and
accessories to suit any child's liking.
Hilton is also bringing kid-themed fun to South America this summer with
Barbie and Hot Wheels rooms at Hilton Buenos Aires. The Barbie and Hot Wheels
rooms are available through August 31st for nightly rates starting at USD$150
+ Vat including breakfast. For reservations, guests must contact the hotel
directly at reservations.buenosaires@hilton.com or (011) 5411-4891-0101.
