High Grade Gold (86.92 g/t Au over 0.50 m) and Silver (170.00 g/t Ag over 0.50 m) Mineralization Intersected at Coringa Project, Brazil.

    VANCOUVER, June 21 /CNW/ - Chapleau Resources Ltd. (CHI: TSX-V) confirms
receipt of results for 10 of the 22 diamond drill holes (DDH's) at the Coringa
gold project, where the Company has an option to earn a 100% interest (see
website for location map - www.chapleauresources.com and Table 1 attached with
summary of assay results for the 10 holes). The gold and silver results from
the first ten holes are very encouraging. Airborne and ground geophysical
programs to assist the Phase 2 drill program will be conducted in July.

    
    The 10 holes totaling 907.15 m have identified and confirmed the
    following:

    -   High grade gold values of 86.90 g/t Au plus silver values
        170.00 g/t Ag over 0.50 m (34.0 to 34.5 m) in DDH1 drilled on the
        Serra structure which has a mapped strike length of 620.00 m.
    -   High grade gold and silver values in two sectors along a regional
        shear zone which has now bein-g identified by drilling 11 DDH's over
        a 3.8 km strike length. Results received to date from 5 of the 11
        holes drilled on this regional structure include the following
        intersections,
        - 31.30 g/t Au plus 23.45 g/t Ag over 1.00 m (74 to 75 m) in DDH4 and
        - 23.67 g/t Au plus 28.25 g/t Ag over 2.00 m (50 to 52 m) in DDH11
          drilled 3.8 km to the southwest of DDH4.
    -   Extension of gold and silver mineralization at depth on the Serra,
        Boca, Vessa, Galena, Come Quieto and Meio artisanal shear-hosted gold
        workings within granite, rhyolite porphyry and volcanic breccia.

    Drill holes were inclined at 50degrees with a maximum of 115.45 m core
length. Core recovery for the mineralized intervals averaged greater than 95%.
The estimated true widths of all the mineralized intervals are approximately
90% of the intersected widths in the holes. Gold mineralization occurs within
silicified, quartz veined and sericite altered shear zones surrounded by
propylitic envelopes within granite, rhyolites and volcanic breccias.
Principal sulphide mineralization includes pyrite, galena, chalcopyrite and
sphalerite between 0.5% and 20.0%.

    Drill cores for assaying were taken at a minimum of 0.50 m and maximum of
1.00 m intervals. All core samples (HQ diameter) were cut with a diamond saw
and one-half of the core placed in bags, numbered and sealed then sent via a
secure transport agency to the Company's main office in Cuiaba in Brazil for
shipping directly to the SGS Geosol Laboratory in Belo Horizonte. The core
samples were then crushed down to 2mm, a split of 250 to 300 g was taken and
pulverized to better than 95% minus 150 mesh. Gold analysis was by fire assay
of a 30g sample and an atomic absorption finish. Silver and additional
thirty-two elements using aqua regia acid digestion were analyzed by
Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP). As part of the Company's QA/QC program
duplicates, blanks and internationally recognized standards were included in
the sample batches to check on assay precision and accuracy. SGS Geosol which
is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001: 2004 registered laboratory also has a
quality control program in place which includes standards and duplicates.
