HELLO! Magazine, CTV's eTalk, and Liberty Entertainment Group celebrate TIFF with New York City Serenade



    Official screening after-party to be held at Toronto's C Lounge on
    September 13th.

    TORONTO, Sept. 6 /CNW/ - With today's opening of the Toronto
International Film Festival, Hello! magazine, CTV's eTalk and the Liberty
Entertainment Group are excited to announce their hosting of the official
screening after-party for NEW YORK CITY SERENADE, directed by Frank Whaley,
produced by Archer Entertainment, and starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Chris Klein
and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. The celebrity packed premiere movie screening takes
place on September 13, 6:30 PM, at Varsity Cinemas, and VIP's will then make
their way to the invitation-only after-party at C Lounge, in the heart of
downtown Toronto. After-party sponsors include Audi, Rimmel, Sherson Group,
Hugo Boss, XX XY, Stella Artois and Smirnoff Vodka.

    NEW YORK CITY SERENADE tells the story of lifelong friends Owen and Ray
and the series of events that lead to their final farewell. A simply told,
surprising and emotional film NEW YORK CITY SERENADE follows in the spirit of
Director Frank Whaley's earlier films JOE THE KING and THE JIMMY SHOW telling
a riveting human story without compromise, with humanity and heart. NEW YORK

    Cast Bios
    ---------
    Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Owen)

    Freddie Prinze Jr. was born in LA in 1976. He landed his first role on
the '90s television sitcom, Family Matters. Freddie's film debut was in TO
GILLIAN ON HER 37th BIRTHDAY (1996), costarring Claire Danes and Michelle
Pfeiffer. His breakout film role was in I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER
(1997), a worldwide box-office success that spawned a sequel; I STILL KNOW
WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. His next film, SHE'S ALL THAT (1999), earned Freddie
more awards and recognition, including being named as one of People magazine's
50 Most Beautiful People in 2000. Freddie's recent filmography includes, HEAD
OVER HEELS, SUMMER CATCH, and BOYS AND GIRLS. In 2002, he and wife Sarah
Michelle Gellar starred together in the blockbuster SCOOBY DOO and SCOOBY DOO
II. Freddie recently starred in the self-titled sitcom for ABC, FREDDIE. His
next role is the voice of the title character in the animated film DELGO and
he is currently filming the pilot ATLANTA directed by Harold Ramis and written
by Paul Reiser for CBS.

    Chris Klein (Ray)

    A native Midwesterner, Chris Klein was born in 1979. While still in high
school, Chris was discovered by Alexander Paine who was scouting locations for
his upcoming film ELECTION (1999). Chris made his professional debut in this
satirical comedy about a high school election. His next role was in the summer
box office hit AMERICAN PIE, and after only two films, Chris had already
developed a following. Next, he starred in HERE ON EARTH in 2000, opposite
Leelee Sobieski and went on to do SAY IT AIN'T SO, produced by the Farrelly
brothers. In 2002 he portrayed a young 2nd Lieutenant in WE WERE SOLDIERS,
starring alongside Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, and Keri Russell. The following
year, Chris starred opposite Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams in THE
UNITED STATES OF LELAND (2003). JUST FRIENDS (2005) casts him with Ryan
Reynolds and Amy Smart. In 2006, Chris was featured in AMERICAN DREAMZ,
reuniting him with his AMERICAN PIE director Paul Weitz. Chris has roles in
the up-coming PLAY DEAD and HANK AND MIKE.

    Jamie-Lynn Sigler (Lynn)

    Jamie-Lynn Sigler has been acting and singing since the age of 7. She got
her start in New York regional theater, and has since starred in over two
dozen theatrical productions including Annie, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of
Music, The Wiz, and Gypsy. Jamie made her Broadway debut as Belle in Disney's
production of Beauty and the Beast from October 2002 through February 2003.
Beyond her theatrical appearances, she starred as Meadow Soprano in the
critically acclaimed HBO series THE SOPRANOS. For her work on the show, she
received the 1999 and 2000 Hollywood Reporter Young Star Award for Best Young
Actress in a Dramatic Television Series and 2001 and 2002 ALMA nominations.
She also has a SAG award for Best Ensemble Cast for THE SOPRANOS (1999). The
series wrapped earlier this year. Jamie-Lynn completed her first feature film,
EXTREME DATING, in 2004 and more recently worked on Mike Cerrone's HOMIE
SPUMONI and can be seen in the upcoming TV miniseries THE GATHERING.
