HDX Launches Dexit Payment Solution with Integrated Touch Screen Point of Sale system at MTC plant in Whitby, Ontario

TORONTO, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - Hosted Data Transaction Solutions Inc. ("HDX") is
pleased to announce the deployment of the Dexit Payment Solution integrated
with the HDX touch screen Point of Sale (POS) solution at the Manufacturers
Technology Centre ("MTC") in Whitby Ont.
HDX (formerly Dexit Inc.) is listed on the TSX under the symbol HDX.
The MTC plant in Whitby is the largest Sony Service Depot in Canada and
has recently introduced a new cafeteria for its employees. The cafeteria is a
joint project with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) who is
operating the cafeteria inside the MTC facility.
The Dexit Payment Solution offers MTC employees a convenient and fast way
to pay at the cafeteria. The solution is privately branded for MTC with a web
site that allows employees to view transactions, opt in for useful email
alerts (ie. account balance) and set automatic refill preferences.
The integrated HDX touch screen POS solution offers exceptionally fast
and simple cashier operation allowing for faster customer throughput and
heightened transaction accuracy. Faster customer throughput and reduced queues
allow MTC employees more time to enjoy their meals.
The CMHA, as operator of the cafeteria, is extending its outreach program
to the MTC plant cafeteria by offering community employment opportunities to
individuals that require support. Through working at the cafeteria the
participant receives valuable training and work experience with the goal of
ultimately providing the tools and confidence to work full time in a similar
setting.
"We are proud to have been selected to help the Durham community, the
CMHA, and the MTC, make this very worthy project a success," says Paul Howell,
President and CEO of HDX. "Integrating the Dexit Payment Solution and HDX
Touch Screen POS system provides cafeteria cashiers with advanced technology
while simplifying and expediting transactions. Through their partnership, MTC
and CMHA have certainly created a win/win situation for operators and
consumers. We are gratified that our closed loop, private branded, fully
integrated business model resonates so well with our customers."
"It has been a pleasure working with everyone at Dexit. We are thrilled
with how easy the system is to use," says Marni Bell, Team Leader, Employment,
Durham CMHA.

    About the Company

HDX is in the business of managing merchant transactions with consumers
and facilitating payment emphasizing transaction speed, simplicity, and
accuracy. HDX develops and deploys touch screen POS system software and
associated enterprise management tools and has developed and deployed numerous
POS applications. HDX also provides system hardware integration services,
merchant staff training, system installation services, and post sale software
and hardware support services. Leading edge technology also includes customer
self serve kiosks and "line buster" mobile point of sale terminals. These
products have been designed to dramatically enhance customer throughput and
drastically reduce customer queues. These technologies are especially
effective in high foot traffic environments that have limited cash register
counter space, limited retail square footage, and the absence of a drive
through.

HDX has pioneered an "instead of cash"(R) electronic based payment
facilitation service. The Dexit(R) Prepaid Payment Service can be private
branded for a specific merchant and enables customers to pay for items quickly
and conveniently with the tap of a RFID (radio frequency identification) tag
linked to a pre-paid account. The Dexit payment solution is especially well
suited for corporate and institutional cafeteria environments where hundreds
of customers purchase and pay for meals in compressed periods throughout the
business day.
