CRTC to decide if network will be the first free national high
definition, over-the-air television network in Canada
TORONTO and VANCOUVER, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - Freedom from low resolution images
may soon be one click away. Today, HDTV Networks Inc. announced that the
Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) will
commence hearings to review HDTV Network's application for Canada's first free
national over-the-air high-definition (HD) broadcast licence based out of
Vancouver, British Columbia.
"Canadians deserve the latest innovative technology in television
programming which they will be able to access from us for free," said John

proposed in: Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal

HDTV Networks Inc. is a Canadian-owned and operated company. The
application to establish a dedicated high-definition format network was
submitted to the CRTC on December 14, 2006 and the Canada Gazette posted today
that the hearings will take place February 11, 2008 in Gatineau, Quebec.
