Hbc Contributes over $700K to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

    TORONTO, June 23 /CNW/ - Today Hudson's Bay Company (Hbc) presented a
cheque for $700,000 to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation from funds raised
by last year's Think Pink(TM) Campaign. The annual Think Pink(TM) campaign
raises funds during the month of October through the sale of various products
in each of the Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters locations.
"We are very proud of the Think Pink campaign's ongoing success, and the
company's contributions to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation," said Diane
Gordon, Director of Community Investment for Hbc. "We look forward to
continuing our partnership with the Foundation and the Think Pink(TM)
campaign."
This year Hbc is offering exclusive pink merchandise through its Bay,
Zellers, and Home Outfitters stores throughout Canada; net proceeds will go
directly to support the Canadian Brest Cancer Foundation. Hbc has engaged its
vendors and developed their own marquee items including the Think Pink(TM)
Signature Throw available at the Bay, and the Think Pink(TM) Apron from Home
Outfitters.
"We are so thankful to Hbc for their continued support of the Foundation
and the Think Pink(TM) Campaign", said Colleen Fleming, CEO, Central Office of
the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. "Companies like Hbc enable the
Foundation to further its hopeful mission of creating a future without breast
cancer by supporting innovative and relevant breast cancer research. Currently
the Foundation is taking a leadership role in the exciting area of primary
prevention research, working to understand the causes of breast cancer and how
we can prevent or reduce the risk of developing breast cancer. Hbc continues
to be a true champion of the cause. "
The goal of the Think Pink(TM) program is to one day live in a world
without breast cancer. The funds raised work towards this goal by supporting
breast cancer research, and breast health education and awareness programs
across the country. Think Pink(TM) and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation
believe in being breast aware and proactive in our health. For more
