Delivering APIs for profile data management, and integration with social
networks and other 3rd party applications
PURCHASE, N.Y., November 12 /CNW/ - Harris Connect, the market leader in
alumni and membership services today announces HC2.Open, which is part of the
overall web 2.0 strategy outlined in the HC2.0 initiative that launched July
2007. HC2.Open will include APIs, mashups and extensions for use by Harris
Connect clients and their technology teams. These tools will provide the
ability to create, access and manage profile data, in addition to enabling
clients to integrate to the more popular social networking sites, such as
"HC2.Open is consistent with our overall strategy to empower our clients
with the tools they need to more effectively engage with their constituents
and have more control over their sites and data." said Paul Gangi, Chief Sales
and Marketing Officer for Harris Connect. "It has been part of our plan with
HC2.0 to provide open APIs for clients to accomplish this. These APIs will
naturally extend to include integration with the more popular social and
business career networking sites."
In addition to exploring ways to leverage the networks in some of the
more public social and business networking sites, clients are also looking to
Harris Connect to provide ways to enable them to share data between systems.
"The technology and data teams at our institution and organization clients are
looking to us to provide toolkits that will open up the data management and
exchange between their system and ours. HC2.Open will enable more hands-on
management by these staff, giving our clients as much control as they want to
have, to be successful with their friend-raising and fund-raising
initiatives," stated Gangi.
The HC2.Open User Profile API is being used today internally between
Harris Connect HC2.0 applications, such as Donation Builder and Membership
Builder, and the Online Directory, ensuring that accurate profile data is
captured and exchanged during these important touchpoints with users.
Harris Connect expects to have a beta release of the HC2.Open User
Profile API for external use available in the first quarter of 2008.
Additional information about HC2.0 is available upon request. The HC2.0 press
release and other news from Harris Connect is available on their news pages at
