Harper Group Inc. merges its dealership operations



    Harper Freightliner Inc. and Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc. merge to
    form Harper Truck Centres Inc.

    TORONTO, March 26 /CNW/ - Paul and Steve Harper co-owners of Harper Group
Inc. are pleased to announce the merger of their truck dealerships under the
new name Harper Truck Centres Inc. According to Paul Harper, "The merger is
scheduled to be completed by May 1, 2008."
    Both Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc. and Harper Freightliner Inc. will
operate its six locations under the new name, Harper Truck Centres Inc.
    This new name will establish the Harper dealerships with a common name
while providing distinct world class truck sales, service and parts for the
Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star and Condor brands.
    This merger of two of Canada's largest truck dealerships is taking place
to further enhance the synergies that exist between the two dealerships. "By
merging these two organizations we will be in a greater position to better
service our customers through a common company," said Paul Harper.
    The name change will allow Harper Truck Centres Inc. to establish itself
with a prominent brand identity as well as being the leading truck dealership
operation in Ontario. "By fostering a one-company mentality through Harper
Truck Centres Inc. we will be able to better leverage these dealerships and
continue to offer superior products and service to our customers in a more
efficient manner," said Steve Harper.
    Harper Group Inc. is also proud to announce John Nelligan as Dealer
Principal and shareholder of Harper Truck Centres Inc. The Harper dealership
business has grown substantially under Nelligan's tenure through the addition
of two locations in Oshawa and Milton and also adding the Western Star and
Condor franchise to all three former Harper Ontario Truck Centres Inc.
locations. "The Harper Group has always shown a strong commitment to the
industry and I am proud to be a part of this new chapter with the
organization," said Nelligan. With the expansion of his duties, he will now
oversee all six Harper Truck Centres Inc. dealership operations.
    This merger significantly enhances Harper's commitment to the industry

and dedication to the trucking community." said Paul Harper.
    The dealerships will merge in a manner that will not interrupt with their
ability to effectively service customers. All aspects of the truck sales and
commercial operations will remain entirely separate and focused on the
individual brands.
