TORONTO, Dec. 31, 2012 /CNW/ -

  • "everyone knows not to drink and drive"… (especially after years of campaigning #arrivealive25)
  • the penalties are tough, you won't like them. Find out more at http://www.occid.org/legislation/penalties.html
  • you are likely to be caught #FestiveRIDE
  • an impaired driving charge is a very bad start to a new year
  • impaired drivers put us all at risk

  • use options including a taxi (1-888-TAXIGUY), Operation Red Nose or staying over
  • be a responsible host and encourage good decisions
  • thank your designated driver with alcohol-free champagne (like champanade)
  • have a plan for a safe ride home and have a back-up plan just in case things go awry
  • don't ride with an impaired driver
  • report an impaired driver as a crime in progress if you see one
