Oakville Company Committed to Donate Over $80,000 in 2007
OAKVILLE, ON, April 24 /CNW/ - Habitat for Humanity Canada has announced
they are excited to enter a new corporate partnership with First Canadian
Title, who held a launch event yesterday at their Home Office in Oakville.
Local Oakville Councilor Keith Bird, Oakville Liberal MPP Kevin Flynn,
and representatives from Habitat for Humanity Canada and First Canadian Title
were on-hand to announce this new partnership, which includes a commitment to
assist in ten home builds across Canada in 2007, a cash donation and in-kind
support of title insuring Habitat homes built in Canada this year.
"We are always excited when Canadian companies step up and show their
support, not only through monetary donations, but through their time," said
David Hughes, President and Chief Executive Officer, Habitat for Humanity
Canada. "First Canadian Title wanted the bulk of their support to be in
helping to build the homes through our national 'Adopt a Day' program. Their
employees have shown a strong a desire to commit their time to the cause, and
that speaks volumes."
First Canadian Title will begin building homes with Habitat for Humanity
in May, sending close to 33 employees per site to build in 2007. The plan is
to develop the partnership into a multi-year commitment, helping Habitat for
Humanity achieve their goal of 500 homes per year by 2010.
"Habitat for Humanity is an organization that provides a critical
necessity of life to people needing a hand up," said Patrick Chetcuti,
President and Chief Operating Officer, First Canadian Title. "I am proud that
we are able to partner with such a worthwhile cause, giving a hand up to
families in communities across Canada that we live and work in."
