Habitat for Humanity Canada and Kia Canada drive toward an affordable housing solution

TORONTO, April 30 /CNW/ - Today, Habitat for Humanity Canada announced a
partnership with Kia Canada to see a home built in Toronto through the Women
Build program. In additional to monetary funding, more than 30 Kia employees
will volunteer on the build site and put their hearts and hands into action.
"Thanks to partners like Kia Canada, Habitat for Humanity Canada is able
to make headway in the fight for affordable housing," said Stewart Hardacre,
President and COO of Habitat for Humanity Canada. "We are pleased to welcome
Kia Canada into the Habitat family and look forward to seeing the positive
impact that this relationship will have in our communities."
The partnership with Habitat for Humanity Canada fits with KIA Canada's
overall goal of enabling Canadians to lead full and energetic lives through
their products and services. By sponsoring a Habitat for Humanity home, Kia is
enabling a Toronto family to get ahead in life and stop making the unthinkable
choice between shelter and other basic needs.
"Kia Canada is proud to establish this partnership with Habitat for
Humanity Canada," said Maria Soklis, COO of Kia Canada. "This partnership
offers Kia Canada the opportunity to give back to the communities it has the
privilege to do business in. We are pleased to be partnered with an
organization that enriches people's lives and is committed to improving our
communities."
The Kia Canada sponsored Habitat for Humanity house is one of sixteen
homes that are part of a unique Women Build Blitz week in Toronto that runs
May 1st to May 9th.
