Gibson's Finest Canadian Whisky scores the official drink of the Grey Cup
TORONTO, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - A truly Canadian sport deserves a truly Canadian
drink - and this month Canadian Football League (CFL) fans have even more to
cheer! Get ready to toast your favourite CFL team with a Gibson's Touchdown -
the official drink of the Grey Cup.
Bartenders and mixologists from across Canada were invited to participate
in the search for the official drink of the Grey Cup. Spirits were raised and
the entries poured in. Drinks were judged by its originality, practicality,
balance of flavour, presentation and inspiration. Cocktails were mixed,
shaken, stirred and tasted until the Gibson's Touchdown was scored.
"Gibson's Touchdown combines three of Canada's finest ingredients - the
rich taste of Gibson's, the sweetness of Canadian maple syrup and the
incredible spirit of the CFL," said Ken Kuzmich, business development manager,
William Grant & Sons.
Inspired by Simon Ho, bartender at Toronto's The Drake Hotel, the
Gibson's Touchdown was developed by Laura Panter, mixologist and owner of The
Martini Club International, Inc.
