ST. JACOBS, ON, Aug. 6 /CNW/ - This summer, Andrée De Montigny's backyard
will receive a $50,000 overhaul thanks to Home Hardware's $50,000 Ultimate
Backyard Makeover Contest. The contest, which ran across Canada from
April 24th until June 1st, saw over five hundred thousand Canadians submit
ballots in hopes of receiving the dream makeover.
"On behalf of Home Hardware and Roland Saulnier and his staff at Shediac
Home Hardware we are thrilled to present a prize of this magnitude to Andrée,"
said Paul Straus, Vice President and CEO, Home Hardware Stores Limited.
"$50,000 combined with the quality products, exceptional service and advice of
Home Hardware will create a backyard retreat that will bring years of
enjoyment for Andrée and her family."
Portions of the prize are set aside for: a major project, such as a new
deck, shed or interlocking brick; labour and installation; and, other backyard
items such as a barbecue, patio set and planters. The division of the $50,000
was predetermined as part of the contest to ensure all areas of the yard would
be revitalized. De Montigny received the prize today at a special celebration
ceremony at her local Home Hardware in Shediac, New Brunswick.
"I was extremely excited when I found out I was the Grand Prize Winner,"
said Andrée De Montigny. "I can't wait for the makeover to get underway so I
can enjoy and show-off my new backyard to family and friends."
