Golden Band Resources: Drill results from EP gold deposit



    SASKATOON, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - Golden Band Resources Inc. (GBN:TSXV) is
pleased to announce the assay results from 36 drillholes (1,551.5 m) completed
in September 2007 on the company's 100%-owned EP gold deposit located in the
La Ronge Gold Belt of Saskatchewan. See Table 1 for significant assay results
and Figure 1 for drillhole locations.

    Nineteen drillholes in this drill program tested for extensions to the
east and along strike of the flat-lying, supergene-type gold mineralization
that forms the basis of the EP deposit's resource estimation. Eight holes were
drilled to improve the assay data in known high-grade gold zones that had poor
core recoveries in prior drilling. Drillholes EP-139 to 146 targeted possible
primary-type gold mineralization that might exist in the EP area in addition
to the known supergene-type. Holes EP-127 to 130 (103.6 m) were drilled to
obtain samples for metallurgical studies and only EP-130 was assayed.
    Golden Band is encouraged with these results as the higher grade EP
supergene-type gold mineralization was intersected in nine of the seventeen
drillholes designed to test for extensions of this zone. Lower grade
mineralization was encountered in the other eight drillholes. Three of the
eight holes that twinned previous holes thought to have poor core recoveries
in the high grade zones intersected significant higher grade gold
mineralization. While primary-type mineralization was not encountered, five of
the eight holes did intersect supergene-type gold mineralization. The results
from this drilling program will be used to update the existing NI 43-101
compliant Resource Estimation for the EP gold deposit. Previous exploration
and resource-related results for this deposit were reported by the Company on
October 10, April 19, and April 11, 2007, and November 6 and September 26,
2006.
    All the core samples from this program were sent to TSL Laboratories in
Saskatoon, a ISO/IEC 17025 accredited facility. Standard fire assay with a AA
finish was performed on all of the samples and the "screened metallic" method
with a gravimetric finish was performed on 24 samples that were thought to
contain nuggety gold. Assay results from the "screened metallic" assays are
used when reporting these results. The quality assurance/quality control of
the fire assay data was monitored by sample standards and sample blanks which
were routinely inserted into the sample sequences.
